1. Independent Research Project
Students choose a focus area from a wide range of research topics which include:

Star
Director
Auteur
Studio
Genre
Institution

They produce the following items:
Catalogue of research resources (10 – 15 items), accompanied by a brief evaluation of each item in terms of quality and relevance

Items rejected from the catalogue (3 – 5 items) and evaluation of why they were rejected

Presentation Script (1500 words) in which they present their findings to the class. THIS IS NOT AN ESSAY

2. Practical Application of Learning (P.A.L.)
Students demonstrate their knowledge by choosing one of the following areas:

Film Journalism
Short Film/Extract from Film
Screenplay

All options must be informed by an Aims and Rationale (500 words)

Film Journalism (3 articles on diverse topics 200 words in total)
Short Film (3 – 5 minutes duration)
Screenplay (2000 words)

Evaluation (500 – 600 words)
Completion Deadline: Last day of Spring Term
