Obviously an
important part of Geography is the
ability to collect and analysis data
about the real world. This ability
is examined at GCSE and A2/AS Level.
To assist our students in acquiring
these skills a piece of field work
is done in every year in Key Stage
3. The data collection is done on
the school site or as a homework task.
At GCSE the research
is done during a fieldtrip to Bridlington.
At AS Level the
data is collected at Hornsea Beach.
At A2 Level data
is collected by doing a stream study
in the North York Moors.
Any piece of work
requiring a student to leave the school
site has to be fully risk assessed
and approved by the County Council.
Parents must fill in the parental
consent form. A covering letter is
no longer acceptable.
