Strategies for Implementing this PLT into the curriculum
Strategy 1

Creating group work in lessons can work very well. The key to success is clear instructions/ guidelines, begin the term with sheets for each group which bullet point what is expected of them, as the term continues your handouts can give the pupils the opportunity to make their own decisions over what needs to be done and how many roles there are.

Strategy 2

Encourage pupils to identify positive learning experiences, this way pupils are clear what works for them.

Strategy 3

Encourage pupils to identify positive learning experiences, this way pupils are clear what works for them.

Strategy 4

Set class projects that require pupils to collaborate. Pupils thrive in these situations as they have the opportunity to take on roles and responsibilities which highlight their strengths.

Strategy 5

Share short term plans with your class, give groups of pupils the responsibility of organising a starter or an introduction to a new topic.

Strategy 6

Video groups working together, show what good/bad team work is. Allow pupils to review the videos, can they see any evidence of team work? What works? What doesn’t?

Strategy 7

Role-play situations in class.
