I have chosen Art as one of my AS-Levels as, since I have done it since being in Year 7, I have enjoyed it and have produced good work. I achieved a good GCSE grade and therefore enhancing my qualifications in this in the Sixth Form will open more doors for my university choices.

What Will I Learn?
This course covers areas such as: Painting, Drawing, Graphics, 3D Work and Photography. The course is essentially practical and covers the following components:
Unit 1: you will complete a final piece or pieces of artwork which will be accompanied by preliminary/supporting evidence.
Unit 2: you will complete a final piece or pieces of artwork. This should be based on developing skills associated with researching and developing ideas in preparation for unit 3.
Unit 3: you will complete a controlled test. You will have a preparatory period of four weeks when you will carry out initial research and investigations, and a timed five hour unaided test.
All units are marked internally and moderated externally by the exam board.
What Are The Entry Requirements?
Minimum ’C’ grade in Art G.C.S.E. If you have not studied Art to G.C.S.E. Level you should consult the Art staff
Is There Anything Else I Need To Know?
As well as the AS qualification you will have the opportunity to study different techniques and artists. You will develop your research skills and your own confidence in your practical skills
