| Is There Anything Else I Need To Know? |
We expect that by the end of the course you will have a much better understanding of the world in which you live and how it affects you and other people.
The subject is delivered by teachers who are specialists in the theme that they are teaching and in ways that encourage debate. Therefore, we expect that you will be generally more knowledgeable and much more confident in the discussion of such matters upon completion of this programme of study.
The method of teaching and the time given to preparation for examinations also help you to see another person’s point of view and therefore enable you to construct a balanced argument. These characteristics are valued by both employers and providers of Higher Education. |

| Future Opportunities? |
We often find that universities and other education providers value General Studies because it helps to form young adults into more rounded personalities. Many universities accept General Studies as equivalent to any other A-Level subject and others will take it into account when allocating places on undergraduate courses, especially when students’ other A-Level results are not as good as they had originally expected.
Employers also like students who are qualified in General Studies because successful completion of the course shows them that you are mature, determined and articulate. As a result, sometimes starting salaries can be augmented by a good grade in this subject or career development opportunities will be made available more readily.
