This year focuses on two specialised areas of psychology, forensic psychology and health + criminal psychology.
G543 Options in applied psychology. This will concentrate on 2 areas: forensic psychology – this will look at areas such as turning to crime making a case, reaching a verdict and after a guilty verdict.
Health & clinical psychology – This will look at areas such as healthy living, stress, dysfunctional behaviour and disorders.
There is also a module called G544 Approaches and Research methods in psychology. This includes two areas, one section on designing a practical project and one section that includes questions on approaches, perspectives, methods, issues and debates. This is where you put theory into practice.
This year is taxing and involves plenty of individual research. Your skills from the AS course will be extremely helpful when completing A2 as some of the studies can be used again this year and your knowledge of the different areas will come in handy.
