| What Will I Learn? |
|
1. Philosophy of Religion 1 (AS)
In this module students will be introduced to the ancient Greek influences on the philosophy of religion such as Plato and Aristotle and will gain a basic knowledge of their thinking. Students will study and discuss in depth the traditional arguments for the existence of God as presented by various philosophers and explore and evaluate challenges to these arguments, they will also explore the problem of evil and suffering and various other challenges to religious belief.
2. Islam 1 (AS)
In this module students will gain background knowledge of Islam, focusing on the historical and geographical context in which Islam developed, they will also explore the origins, role and status of the Koran. During this module students are required to study the five pillars of Islam, in particular their practical and theological nature; they will also discuss and reflect upon core beliefs about Allah and the role of Muhammad (pbuh).

| How Will I Be Assessed? |
| Pupils will be required to take two modules at AS level and a further two to gain A2 level. These modules will be assessed by examination. |
